National History

Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 16, 1999, by Sorors Carla Griffith, Vila-Sheree Watson and Nicole Parham Gardner.  Carly, Vila-Sheree and Nicole met each other as a result of being apart of a local, Christian club at Oakwood College.  This sorority was formed to give women an opportunity to become apart of a Greek-lettered organization, but at the same time hold fast to their Christian values.

Many strides were taken through the years to further cement and solidify the organization before becoming national.  In 2000, Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority, Inc. became incorporated and in 2004, took in it's first members known as the Seven Heavenly Virtues.

Our Purpose

The purpose of Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority, Inc. is to bring Christ to women of all races, creeds, tongues and denominations.  It is our goal to spread the love of God throughout the world by the association of women.  Through carrying this torch for Christ, we find ourselves humbled that He has given us the opportunity to be a witness for Him.  For this is His ministry and not our own.  If we didn't allow ourselves to be used, we realize He would use someone else.

We are DELIVERED, through the blood of Jesus Christ as an atonement for our sins.  Through this deliverance we have been washed and redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.  We are made whole and by His stripes, we are healed.

We are POWERFUL, through the Holy Spirit we have received power! We have the power to overcome, power to move forward and power to keep that momentum.

We are ENLIGHTENED, through the eyes of God.  It is because of His love that we were once blind, but now we see. Our mission is to be an unstoppable army for the Lord, honoring the Great Commission which is to go into all of the world and preach and teach the gospel of Christ.

Sorority Scripture

"Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may be able to read it easily and quickly as he hastens by.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end (fulfillment); it will not deceive or disappoint.  Though it tarry, wait (earnestly) for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on it appointed date."

Habakkuk 2:2 (Amplified Bible)

Today, the Sorority has members all over the country in Alabama, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, Washington, DC, Gerogia, Maryland, North Carolina, Louisiana, Illinois, Texas, Florida, and Indiana.

The Zeta Omega Chapter Herstory & Lineage

The Zeta Omega Chapter began as the Atlanta City-Wide Colony, which was founded on March 1, 2007 by Sorority Co-Founder Nicole Parham Gardner.  After working to build in the Atlanta area, Founder Gardner found three very faithful women to step up for the cause of Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority, Inc.

On September 23, 2007, three women - Sorors Angela Williams (Soul Music), Chasity Parks (Jubilee), and Mattisha Parham (Whisper of Love) became the charter members of the Atlanta City Wide Colony, and thus became the founding line known as The Faithful F.E.W. ( F.avored E.mpowered W.omen).

Then, on February 16, 2008, a new sister was added to the Atlanta City Wide Colony family.  Her name is Renata Cherry (ReSOULute) of the One of A Kind.

February 20, 2010, marked the day another passionate sister, Soror Heather Buchanan (Soul Surviror- in the black jacket),  joined the Atlanta City-Wide Colony family.

On June 26, 2010, four women were inducted and helped charter what is now the Zeta Omega Chapter.  They are known as All My Children, Wanda Hammonds (Passions), Monique Aycock (Guiding Light), Catina Griffin ( One Life to Live), and LaShandra Battle (Bold and the Beautiful).

On December 10, 2011, two more sisters joined the Zeta Omega Chapter.  They are known as Law and Order.  Sabine Augustin (Justice) and Regina Coley (Peacemaker).

On August 30, 2014, we welcomed four passionate women to the Zeta Omega Chapter.  They are known as Old Ship of Zion.  Stephanie Fearn (Valor of the Seas), Lelitia Lane (Victory of the Seas), Trecye Johnson (Voyager of the Seas) and Letitia Moorehead ( Vessel of the Seas).
